Concert Band

The Kernan Middle School Concert Band is made of continuing 7th and 8th grade students. Students must have successfully completed a full year of Beginning Band in order to be scheduled into this group. This band performs at least 2 concerts and may represent Kernan Middle School at the District 17 Music Performance Assessment.

The requirements to perform in this band are:

 

1. At least one previous year of study on a Band instrument

2. Memorization of the 4 major scales at least 1 octave

3. Preparation of a solo at a previous concert and/or Solo and Ensemble

4. An academic history of "C" average or better
