Hello, hello, hello! We are pushing to the end of the year. Here are the current upcoming events for our band students:

​

1) The Symphonic Band ASSESSMENT CONCERT will be on April 4th at 6:15pm at Kernan Middle School. Students will need to be in uniform for this graded concert.

​

2) The End of the Year concert "A Concert From Outer Space!" will be held at Atlantic Coast High School on May17th, beginning at 6:00pm. All band students are expected to attend this graded event and must arrive with all equipment and in uniform to perform.

Welcome back from winter break!

In beginning band we had a tremendous amount of emailed and REMIND-sent passoffs and we hope to keep the momentum going. We will be preparing for our end of the year concert by focusing the 3rd quarter on tone, technique, and scales! Percussion tryouts will be Monday and Tuesday January 9th and 10th from 8:30 - 9:15am and again from 4:25 - 5:00pm. Students interested in joining percussion will need to attend at least one day and one time slot.

In symphonic band we have received our 3rd quarter calendars and rehearsal notices. All Symphonic Band students will have various after school rehearsals between 1/9 and 3/9. This form needs to be signed and returned for a grade. We will be preparing for our first MPA performance in a decade, this is a very important concert event.

The Symphonic Band will be performing their winter concert "Concert Dances" with special performance from the Kernan Middle School Saxophone Ensemble and Flute Trio. This is a formal concert at Kernan Middle School. Students are to arrive at 6pm. Concert begins at 6:30pm. This is a free event and all are invited!

Please refer to the send home announcement. A day students are to arrive, prepared, by 5:45pm. B day students are to arrive, prepared, by 6:45pm. Students must report to the band room, parents will be ushered to seating before the performance. Pictures and videos are encouraged!
